The European Forum of Worldwide Music Festivals will hold its annual general meeting and members meeting in Marseille in collaboration with Babel Med.

The EFWMF will be very present at this year's edition, please come and meet us at our stand, especially at our "5PM Informal International Meet&Greet&Drink".

We will also co-host two special sessions on saturday march 27th.
At 10AM there is a session on international collaboration and networking,
followed by a meeting for all festival directors at 12.00hrs

LA ZAMPOGNA starts the 2010 EFWMF-Festival season

Happy Festival Year!

The first of all EFWMF-festivals kicks off on sunday january 17th. La Zampogna in Italy is a wonderfull winterfestival in the beautiful Lazio Area in Italy. Bagpipes from around the world unite with handpicked concerts from local traditions, seminars and a market for traditional musical instrument builders.

The European Forum of Worldwide Music Festivals is a network of over 40 festivals and friends that regularly meet. We exchange on artistic issues, festival related matters and try to work together to invite artists and projects to our festivals.

EFWMF would love to meet other festival networks, to get to know each other and since most of our members are European, players from other continents are especially welcome. This will be an informal presentation and exchange session for festivals and festival networks.

The EFWMF is celebrating a network sharing the vision that the world is a patchwork of a multitude of local traditions and music, each different in expression and content yet equal in value.
The EFWMF is celebrating 20 years of worldwide music, international collaborations and fantastic concerts.
The EFWMF is celebrating that another 20 years lie ahead of us.

For 1 year only we want a vibrant looking logo – slightly based on the existing one (read: recognisable) – with a hint to the future.

21ste edition MMVV2009

Vic Live Music Market (Mercat Musica Viva de Vic) showcases a highly international event this year, featuring co-productions and collaborations with different agents from the sector.

Some ninety performances, which include 20 new releases, comprise an event that unites all styles on the contemporary music scene.

Artistic director Lluís Puig puts together a program that has close connections with other festivals and events, on a national and international scale. The festival arena, information sessions, music features, concerts and “Off Mercat” listings (concerts not featured in the official program) attract international acclaim to this professional event.

From the 16th until the 20th of September, Vic Live Music Market (Mercat Musica Viva de Vic) MMVV 2009 plans a line up that features some 100 concerts; 100,000 spectators, over a 1,000 professionals and 100 specialised journalists. 

This year, a range of co-productions will go on stage from other major events, such as the World Sacred Music Festival of Girona (Festival de Músicas Religiosas de Girona); Barcelona Musical Action - BAM (Barcelona Acció Musical), which forms part of the Mercè festival in Barcelona; the South Pyrenees Festival (Pirineos Sur Festival); the Boulevard Festival in Morocco; the Babel Med Music in France and the Meeting delle Etichette Independenti in Italy, amongst others.
