La Zampogna Festival - XXII Edition

La Zampogna Festival was a big succes!

Despite the clouds, over 2000 people attended the last day of La Zampogna festival in Maranola, Italy. An important result that, once again, confirms the value of the initiative. The festival is dedicated to a traditional musical instrument, the bagpipe, and the whole world around it. Thanks to the quality and originality of the cultural project, coordinated by Ambrogio Sparagna and Erasmo Treglia, al these people showed up.

At the fair market, a lot of young craftsmen showed their traditional violing making skills. Thanks to the Festival, and other initiatives of this kind, they have confidence in investing time and energy in a work so special.
There were a lot of artists involved, including the polyphonic Sardinian women 'Actores Alidos', and the duo 'Mascia', a father and son who are musicians and builders of the Launeddas: an ancient instrument that is only found in Sardinia, Italy. There was an extraordinary performance of a Siberian singer-shaman: 'Sainkho Namtchylak' who did a special ritual of planting a pomegranate tree in the Villa Comunale Maranola. Sainkho won 'La Zampgna 2015' Award.
Many other artists were involved in concerts, workshops & seminars. This makes it the most important event of tradtional music and culture in winter, that takes place in Italy.
See you at the next edition!
