New Member : Choro Jazz Festival in Brasil 

Ceará, one of the major postcards in Brasil, and one of the most exuberant regions in the world, is hosting the IV edition of the Choro e Jazz Festival that will take place from 29th November to 1st December in Fortaleza and from 4th to 9th December in Jericoacoara. 
The festival organises musical encounters, workshops and an educational programme with the emphasis on instrumental music in all its richness and multiplicity of forms. 

Committed to the valuation and the democratisation of culture, the IV edition of the festival provides a range of artistic experiences totally free for everyone to be active in the contemporary music scene.

New Member : Fira Mediterrània Manresa from Spain 

 

Fira Mediterrània of Manresa is a market for new artistic creations inspired by Catalan traditions or those common to the Mediterranean shores. Organised by the Fira Mediterrània Foundation, it has been held annually in Manresa for fourteen years, during the first weekend of November. The 15th edition of the Market will be held from 8 to 11 November 2012. 
Being a market, the main objective of Mediterrània is to help the programmed acts to be contracted by the attending programmers. There are usually around a hundred different artistic shows on offer:  Music, theatre and dance shows, Shows for adult and family audiences,  Stage shows and also street performances.

19th edition of the Oslo World Music Festival coming up! 

Oslo World Music Festival is an annual festival, being held this year for the 19th time. In 2012, for the third year in a row, it was named as one of the 25 best international festivals in the world by the UK-based world music magazine Songlines.The festival attracts around 16 000 music fans every year, and during the week-long event as many as 300 artists will be playing on 14 different stages all around Oslo. Kronos Quartet is one of the headliners, along with fado singer Ana Moura, Balkan legend Goran Bregovic, the opening project El Gusto, the African blues legend Boubacar Traoré, up and coming Fatoumata Diawara from Mali and Paal Nilssen-Love’s EthioAction project – formed especially for the Oslo World Music Festival.
